Adobe Photoshop is one of the most powerful and widely used photo editing tools in the world. It provides a variety of features and tools to edit, enhance, and create digital images.
Each tool serves a specific function like selecting, cropping, coloring, or retouching images. Understanding these tools helps in professional editing and creative design.
Used to move layers, selections, and guides. Shortcut key: V.
Use: Select the Move Tool → Click & Drag the object or layer to reposition it.
Includes Marquee, Lasso, and Magic Wand tools to select parts of an image.
Use: Drag to select rectangular or circular regions; use Magic Wand for color-based selection.
Used to remove unwanted areas and resize the canvas. Shortcut: C.
Use: Select Crop Tool → Adjust handles → Press Enter to apply.
Allows painting on the image using customizable brush shapes. Shortcut: B.
Use: Choose Brush Tool → Select size & color → Click & drag to paint.
Removes parts of an image or layer. Shortcut: E.
Use: Select Eraser Tool → Choose brush size → Click and drag on areas to erase.
Fills a selected area with a chosen color or pattern. Shortcut: G.
Use: Click on any closed area to fill it with the selected color.
Copies pixels from one area and paints them onto another. Shortcut: S.
Use: Hold Alt to sample area → Click to clone over imperfections.
Used to pick colors from an image for reuse. Shortcut: I.
Use: Click on any color area to set it as the new foreground color.
Adds text to images with customizable fonts, sizes, and styles. Shortcut: T.
Use: Select Text Tool → Click anywhere → Type your text.
Removes blemishes or imperfections by blending surrounding pixels. Shortcut: J.
Use: Select the tool → Click on imperfections to smoothen them.
