✨ 4️⃣ Working with Animations

Animations add motion effects to text and objects, making your slides more dynamic and engaging.

Types of Animations in LibreOffice Impress:
  • Entrance Effects: Objects appear on the slide (e.g., Fade In, Fly In, Zoom In).
  • Emphasis Effects: Highlight or draw attention (e.g., Spin, Change Color, Grow/Shrink).
  • Exit Effects: Objects disappear from the slide (e.g., Fade Out, Fly Out).
  • Motion Paths: Move objects along a path (e.g., Lines, Arcs, Custom Path).
Steps to Apply Animation:
  1. Select an object (text, shape, or image).
  2. Go to Slide Show → Custom Animation.
  3. Click Add and choose an animation effect.
  4. Set parameters:
    • ✔️ Start: On Click / With Previous / After Previous
    • ⏱️ Speed: Very Slow to Very Fast
    • Direction: From left, right, top, etc.
Tips for Effective Animations:
  • Use subtle effects for professionalism.
  • Avoid overusing animations; focus on clarity.
  • Preview the animation sequence using Slide Show → Start from Current Slide.
🎯 5️⃣ Animation Timings and Triggers

Animations can be automated using timings and triggers to control the flow of your presentation.

  • Timing: Delay or duration of animation.
  • Trigger: Start animation based on a click or another object’s animation.

Example: Make an image appear automatically after 2 seconds – set Start: After Previous and Delay: 2 seconds.

📊 Conclusion

Combining multimedia, headers, notes, and animations transforms an ordinary presentation into a professional and visually appealing one. With Impress, you can easily blend visuals, motion, and structure to deliver impactful presentations.
